About the Department The Strategy & Rare Disease (STARS)
organization drives the long-term strategic direction of Novo
Nordisk Inc. (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all US
commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. The
mandate of STARS is to facilitate the development and to coordinate
the execution of the long-term strategy, defining a sustainable
business model in US beyond a 5-year time horizon. This department
serves as the insiders of the US market when informing and help
shaping upstream decisions around future investments and assets.
The Rare Disease portfolio includes products in the hemophilia and
growth disorders therapeutic areas, new products in the pipeline,
and products acquired through business development efforts in
existing and new areas. The STARS team collaborates and partners
with groups across NAO, Research & Early Development, Development,
innovation hubs across NN, other affiliates, and global. We’re

future. The Position The Rare Disease Marketing Operations Lead is
responsible for assisting the Rare Disease Commercial Strategy &
Marketing Head in developing, communicating, and executing key
strategic initiatives across the portfolio. The position serves as
a strategist, consultant and implementer, planning and directing
key marketing operational, financial, and administrative
activities. This role is also responsible for ensuring preparedness
for all executive engagements and leads key strategic initiatives
ensuring alignment with BU goals, as well as managing internal
marketing communications. They will develop and implement a
comprehensive strategy for agency management, lead portfolio
promotional materials management and drive cycle planning and
operations. This role includes overseeing the marketing materials
planning and review process, management of internal agency's
operations, and facilitation of POA meetings. The leader will set
clear goals and drive continuous improvement and innovation. This
role actively participates as a member of the marketing leadership
team in shaping strategy, structure, culture and engagement.
Relationships Reports to the Rare Disease Commercial Strategy &
Marketing Head and serves as a key member and contributor to the RD
Marketing Leadership Team. This position interacts with the
marketing leaders and works closely with key stakeholders across
Rare Disease and extended stakeholders. Examples include Rare
Disease Commercial Strategy & Marketing, Strategy & Planning,
Hemoglobinopathies, Field Sales, Strategic Partnerships &
Engagement, Commercial Excellence and Innovation, Customer
Experience and Marketing Enablement, Employee Experience, Business
and Commercial Excellence, Ecosystem and Enterprise Influence, CMR,
Communications, MAPA and Finance. External relationships include
interactions with various vendors and consultants based on the
needs of special projects or implementation of new programs.
Provide oversight for cross-organizational working groups to ensure
alignment. Essential Functions Supports the Rare Disease Commercial
Strategy & Marketing Head on key strategic opportunities,
initiatives, goals and objectives Support the development of
executive narrative, storytelling and presentations for marketing
to communicate strategy, tactical plans, performance, direction,
business cases, inspiration and updates Develop communications for
effective engagement, alignment and execution Support the
advancement of the Rare Disease Marketing culture and engagement
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Rare Disease business
across relevant Tas Drive strategic projects to secure
organizational efficiencies or maximize performance opportunities
in alignment with company priorities, strategic direction and NN
WAY Monitor progress and performance of strategic projects,
identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with
overall business unit and enterprise goals Facilitate
cross-functional collaboration to drive operational efficiency and
effectiveness for marketing initiatives Responsible for developing
and executing the Rare Disease marketing change management and
transformation approach Demonstrate strong leadership role across
the organization, by engaging in close collaboration with key
internal stakeholders to drive a unified enterprise approach for
marketing Plan and execute meetings, town halls and
offsites/retreats for marketing including agenda development,
logistics coordination, and follow-up activities Drive effective
organizational alignment to company priorities, strategy
development, scorecard management, planning & budgeting and
strategic initiatives Drive and execute key strategic projects
combining external insights and internal thinking Participate as an
active member of the Marketing Leadership team to shape the
strategy and culture and always challenging the status quo to
ensure success Support the planning process to ensure AB anchoring
of prioritized Marketing initiatives Drive strategic projects to
secure organizational efficiencies or maximize performance
opportunities in alignment with company priorities, strategic
direction and NN WAY Identify emerging trends, disruptive
technologies, and potential market shifts that may impact the
portfolio Oversees agency management ensuring operational alignment
with the needs of the commercial organization. Establish key
performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of
the in-house agency as well as PRB review and approval Support and
foster marketing efforts for all POA and regional meetings
Responsible for the continuous management and oversight of the
Marketing budget, including vendors and suppliers, ensuring that
expenditures remain within target levels. Identify opportunities
for cost savings and efficiency improvements Physical Requirements
Approximately 20-30% overnight travel. Qualifications A bachelor’s
degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing or related field
required. Advanced degree preferred 10 years of progressive
business, strategic planning, operations, consulting, or related
business experience required, preferably within the pharmaceutical
industry Possess superior communication skills with the ability to
synthesize complex information into user-friendly, persuasive
formats and presentations Ability to adapt to rapidly changing
business requirements and operate at both the strategic and
tactical level Demonstrated ability to develop practical solutions
to broad, complex issues with minimal oversight Prior consulting
experience and/or significant proven project experience required
Hands-on experience in project/portfolio resource planning,
reporting, prioritization, and budgeting Proven success in
developing strategy through expert understanding of market and
industry Ability to manage complexity, including the leadership of
work across competing priorities Strong strategic thinking and
analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into
actionable marketing strategies to guide customer experiences
Outstanding planning and organizational skills with exceptionally
high attention to detail and proven track record of results and
follow up Excellent stakeholder management skills, with ability to
influence leaders and collaborate with cross-functional teams
across the organization Excellent leadership and team management
skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others The base
compensation range for this position is $ 148,290 to $ 259,510.
Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This
position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual
and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive
compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's
