A pre-identified candidate for consideration has been identified. However, all applications will be considered.Purpose:The Radiochemist will be a technical expert in the discovery and development of radiolabeling chemistries that produce targeted radiotherapeutics. They will work independently in collaboration with cross functional discovery teams, early and late development organizations, and external partners (C(D)MOs) to facilitate the successful discovery and development of next-generation Radiotherapeutics, and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes for clinical and commercial development.You will be responsible for:--- Make contributions at the team level around radiopharmaceutical design based on the target disposition and help develop new radiolabeling methodologies and formulations (to prevent/minimize radiolysis) for discovery and preclinical stage programs.--- Evaluate novel chelator and linker combinations that incorporate therapeutic radioisotopes to drive optimal biophysical and stability properties.--- Work closely with discovery biology, bioconjugation and PET radiochemistry teams to assist in the development of preclinical imaging tracers and companion PET diagnostics.--- As part of a team, develop novel analytical methods that are both suitable and optimized for different modality-based targeting vectors/delivery vehicles.--- Generate data that would be used for the filing of regulatory documents (INDs, ANDAs) for the use of the novel radiopharmaceutical and author research and development reports, manuscripts for publications and assist in patent applications.--- Support discussions in the transfer of radiochemistry technology, analytical procedures and proprietary techniques to internal and external clinical development manufacturing operations.--- Assimilate the strong radiation safety culture and occasionally consult to clinical teams.--- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external teams.Qualifications / Requirements:Education:--- Bachelor's degree required--- Master's degree or PhD highly preferred Required:--- Minimum of 4 years experience in radiochemistry development, manufacturing of radiotherapies, and organic chemistry. --- Skilled in working with teams and discussions during the early stages of development to make sure that molecular features and experimental designs are appropriate for their goals. --- Hands-on experience with therapeutic radioisotopes (e.g. Ac-225, Lu-177, Cu-67, or Pb-212)--- Experienced in quality control testing of Radiotherapeutics. Hands-on experience with radio-HPLC, radio-ITLC and/or GC.--- Basic knowledge of environmental health and radioprotection requirements--- Ability to work independently with strong organization, prioritization and communication skills--- Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize projects and manage timelines in a fast-paced environment--- Position will require up to 10-15% of travel Preferred:--- Experience contributing to the early planning of CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) strategy, including important radiochemical features for a successful product launch --- Functional knowledge of GMPs and applicable FDA, EMA, Health Canada, USP, ICH and PDA guidelinesJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
