Summary: The Data Solutions & Instrumentation (DSI) team is seeking
a Senior Product Manager II to own and drive first-party
instrumentation and telemetry across Disney and commerce and
identity experiences. This role is responsible for defining how
product behavior is captured at the source, ensuring telemetry is
accurate, consistent, and scalable to support analytics,
experimentation, personalization, identity workflows, and business
decision-making. The Sr Product Manager II acts as the primary
product owner for their telemetry scope, accountable for outcomes -
not just execution. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data
Engineering, Governance, and Analytics partners, this role
translates product and business needs into clear instrumentation
strategy, detailed specifications, and high-quality
implementations. The impact of this role is foundational: improving
data quality at the source, reducing downstream remediation,
enabling reliable experimentation and personalization, and
strengthening Disney’s first-party data capabilities across core
consumer experiences. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role: Own
First-Party Telemetry Outcomes: Act as the primary product owner
for defined first-party instrumentation domains, accountable for
telemetry completeness, accuracy, and usability across Disney and
commerce and identity experiences. Define Telemetry Strategy and
Direction: Drive telemetry strategy for assigned product areas,
including defining behavioral signals, identifiers, success
metrics, and data contracts needed to support product,
experimentation, and identity use cases. Translate Product Needs
into Telemetry Specifications: Convert product requirements and
business questions into clear, actionable telemetry specifications,
including events, parameters, identifiers, and schemas that scale
across platforms and environments. Execute End-to-End
Instrumentation Delivery: Own the full lifecycle of telemetry work
from discovery and requirements through implementation support,
validation, and launch, orchestrating delivery across Product
Engineering, Data Engineering, and Platform teams. Partner Closely
with Engineering and Platform Teams: Work directly with engineering
partners to ensure telemetry is implemented correctly, performs
reliably, and aligns with platform standards and architectural
constraints. Champion Data Quality at the Source: Proactively
identify telemetry gaps, inconsistencies, and risks; drive
resolution through improved requirements, validation approaches,
and close collaboration with engineering. Support Experimentation,
Personalization, and Identity Use Cases: Ensure first-party
telemetry reliably supports experimentation frameworks,
personalization systems, and identity workflows by providing
consistent, high-quality behavioral signals. Balance Delivery with
Long-Term Evolution: Deliver against near-term product needs while
continuously improving telemetry patterns, schemas, and practices
to support long-term scalability and reuse. Use Data to Improve
Telemetry: Analyze telemetry health, adoption, and downstream usage
to identify improvement opportunities and inform future
instrumentation decisions. Communicate Telemetry Decisions with
Clarity: Clearly articulate telemetry strategy, requirements,
tradeoffs, and impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders,
influencing priorities and resolving ambiguity. Provide Domain
Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a go-to product expert in
first-party telemetry, sharing best practices and coaching other
Product Managers through projects or initiatives when appropriate.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training: Basic
Qualifications 7 years of experience in data-focused Product
Management, Telemetry, Instrumentation, Platform Product
Management, or a related technical discipline Demonstrated
ownership of first-party data collection or telemetry solutions ,
with accountability for data quality, reliability, and business
impact. Strong product sense applied to data and platform domains,
including defining telemetry strategy in ambiguous environments.
Hands-on experience translating product needs into telemetry
specifications engineers can implement consistently across
platforms. Deep understanding of event-based data models,
identifiers, and behavioral signal design. Proven ability to
orchestrate complex, cross-functional execution with Product
Engineering, Data Engineering, and Platform partners. Strong
analytical skills and comfort using data to validate telemetry
health and inform decisions. Excellent communication skills, with
the ability to explain technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly and
influence stakeholders. Experience operating effectively in Agile,
fast-paced, and evolving environments. Bachelor’s Degree required
Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting large-scale consumer
products, including subscription, commerce, or identity-driven
experiences. Familiarity with event-driven architectures, streaming
data, or distributed systems as they relate to telemetry.
Understanding of privacy, consent, and identity considerations in
first-party data collection. Experience improving or standardizing
telemetry schemas, instrumentation patterns, or operating models
across teams. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical
experience. The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is
$163,100 to $218,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will
take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on
the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills,
and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term
incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation
package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial,
and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
