Job Description:
What will you be doing? Barclays Services Corp seeks AVP, Senior
Software Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
1. Develop and modify computer applications for the Markets
Post-Trade Technology team, including analysis, requirement
assessment, estimation, design, coding, debugging, testing,
integration, documentation and maintenance. 2. Develop and enhance
Java server-side components. Document functional requirements,
technical design and other solutions. 3. Design, develop and
improve fundamental technical features such as messaging, release
engineering, caching, failover and alerting. 4. Design and
implement server-side business functions in Java and build
applications using Spring framework. Liaise with other teams in
evaluating new features and improvements and completing User
Acceptance Testing. 5. Communicate with the global development team
and escalate issues on time. Ensure consistent high code quality
through unit and integration testing. 6. Ensure consistent high

technical solution design, develop POCs and assess the performance
of the solution. 7. Architect the software system, design solution,
implement the software solutions or server-side business
functionalities, test and deliver software using JAVA/J2EE
frameworks, SPRING, hibernate and Spring boot by following software
development life cycle (SDLC) in cloud technologies. 8. Evaluate
performance, suggest and implement improvements. 9. Work closely
with QA, UAT and application support teams in getting code tested,
released and supported. 10. Troubleshoot performance and functional
problems on development, testing and production environments. 11.
Support and troubleshoot any production queries and issues. 12. May
telecommute. This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to

develop and improve software, utilising various engineering
methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology
capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Accountabilities
Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by
using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and
tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized
for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product
managers, designers, and other engineers to define software
requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless
integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration
with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of
code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry
technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the
organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of
technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding
practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and
ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit
testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and
