Wellhart is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position at a Trauma hospital in Pennsylvania. This 42-day assignment begins on 01/02/2026, covering 24-hour call and rounding responsibilities. The schedule is structured in blocks, starting Fridays at 5 pm and ending the following Friday at 5 pm or 8 am. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing EGD, colonoscopies, and if possible, EUS and ERCP. Typical days involve morning rounds with a PA, followed by 4-6 outpatient procedures, usually screening colonoscopies. This role requires an active Pennsylvania medical license and proficiency with Epic EHR. There is potential for assignment extension. Job Details: Location: Pennsylvania Facility Type: Hospital (Trauma) Start Date: 01/02/2026 LOA: 42 days Provider Type Needed: Gastroenterologist Schedule: 24-hour call coverage rounding, block schedule Job Responsibilities and Duties: • Provide 24-hour call coverage and perform daily rounds • Conduct morning patient reviews with PA • Perform outpatient procedures, primarily EGD and colonoscopies • Conduct EUS and ERCP procedures if qualified • Manage both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology cases • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams • Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation • Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices in gastroenterology • Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and staff • Participate in any required training or orientation sessions Additional Information: • Active Pennsylvania medical license required • Experience with Trauma care preferred • Comfort with high-volume endoscopy procedures • Potential for assignment extension Apply now to learn more!
