Our client is currently seeking a OSP ENGINEER - II in Freehold, NJ.

• Candidate does need to have proximity to central NJ everyday for the field component of the position. NO relocation candidates. Must be local This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • T he Outside Plant Engineer is responsible for designing upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the Outside Plant telephony network. This includes all structures (such as poles and conduit systems), cable (copper & fiber) and associated equipment for aerial, underground, buried, and submarine.
  • The engineer monitors and analyzes activity within a geographical turf and designs solutions to maintain or enhance service. He/she coordinates professionally with a variety of departments and also has direct external customer contact with customers and partners including government agencies, other utilities as well as construction industry trades and contractors.
  • The engineer must be able to solve complex problems with innovative solutions, select and implement the most effective design and project manage the resulting work order through to completion.
  • The engineer has the authority, up to a set dollar limit, to choose and implement solutions independently. The engineer needs the ability to work independently in a diverse environment both indoors and outdoors. The employee may need to drive a non CDL vehicle and possess a valid drivers license. Qualifications & Requirements:
    • Must have a degree preferably in a Science and/or commensurate work experience directly in OSPE for a telecom firm.
    • Must have experience with IDDS/ICGS/Visio/MS Office
    • Must be familiar with engineering copper, fiber, FTTP networks Superior analytical, communication, project management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal customer contact skills including negotiation experience. Currently 1 day per week in office subject to change at any time
