At Interstate Waste Services, we are currently seeking a dedicated Manager of Site Operations for our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) located in the Northeast U.S. This vital role focuses on overseeing the day-to-day operations of our MRF, ensuring compliance with all state regulatory requirements and promoting sustainable waste management practices. The ideal candidate will exemplify leadership and possess a deep understanding of waste management processes, striving for operational excellence and environmental stewardship. Manage daily operations of the MRF, ensuring efficient material sorting, processing, and recovery. Supervise, train, and evaluate staff performance to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Implement and monitor waste management and sorting systems to maximize resource recovery and minimize contamination. Develop and maintain operational budgets, managing costs while optimizing operational efficiency. Liaise with governmental agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and foster community relations. Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure operational integrity and safety. Prepare reports on operational performance, environmental impact, and improvement plans. Promote a safety-first culture among the staff, implementing the latest industry safety practices and innovations. Strong leadership and people management skills In-depth knowledge of the waste management and recycling industry Proficiency in regulatory and environmental compliance Ability to prepare and manage budgets effectively Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Strong project management and organizational skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Certified Waste Professional (CWP) is preferred OSHA Safety Certifications
