Job Description:
POSITION TITLE: Controller REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary: NESCO Resource has a client —a precision
manufacturer supporting aerospace, defense, and industrial
markets—who is looking for an experienced, hands-on Controller to
lead their accounting operations. This role plays a critical part
in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal processes,
and enabling strategic initiatives across the organization. The
Controller will manage a lean, effective team, overseeing financial
reporting, compliance, and internal controls. Working closely with
the CFO and department leaders, this role will drive improvements
in cost accounting, cash flow visibility, and overall financial
efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic
perspective and operational excellence, with a strong background in
manufacturing finance. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting &
Controls Direct the monthly and annual close processes with a focus
on accuracy and timeliness Maintain consistency and integrity in
the general ledger and reporting systems Prepare and analyze
GAAP-compliant financial statements Collaborate with the CFO on
board-level reporting, audit prep, and financial planning Cost
Accounting & Operations Integration Manage standard and job costing
procedures, along with inventory valuation Partner with production
and supply chain to analyze variances and support margin goals
Enhance cost reporting tools and data-driven decision-making
processes Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Analysis Lead the
company’s annual budgeting cycle in coordination with department
leaders Deliver financial modeling and “what-if” analysis to
support key decisions Monitor critical financial metrics (DSO, DPO,
CCC) and suggest timely adjustments Compliance & Internal Controls
Review and improve internal financial controls and risk mitigation
strategies Maintain compliance with corporate policies, GAAP, and
external audit requirements Act as primary contact for auditors and
manage the audit process Team Management & Development Oversee the
accounting team, including AP, AR, and general ledger functions
Cultivate a team culture rooted in collaboration, ownership, and
continuous learning Champion cross-training and support long-term
talent development within finance Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required Minimum of 7 years
of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in a
controller or leadership capacity Strong background in
manufacturing finance is essential Deep understanding of GAAP, cost
accounting, and end-to-end financial operations ERP proficiency
required (Syteline experience a plus) Advanced Excel skills (pivot
tables, lookups, financial analysis) Proven ability to drive
results, implement change, and lead with both detail and vision
Additional Information: Work Setting: Office-based role with mostly
sedentary work Physical Requirements: Light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
on occasion Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with
