Job Description:
What will you be doing? Barclays Services Corp. seeks Assistant
Vice President, Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions
available): 1. Design and develop exotics analytics price and
strategic trade booking platform for Structured Notes, and
contribute to the overall system design, architecture and
development on risk platform, booking tools for exotic products and
price streaming platforms. 2. Enhance systems to facilitate
Regulatory requirements (FRTB IM/SSA, CCAR, Libor cessation). 3.
Manage stakeholders by working directly with front office trading,
operations and other business users to collect requirements and
provide regular status updates and support. 4. Reduce technical
debt by introducing and adopting best practices in software
development and collaborating with the team to ensure consistent
adoption of best practices and migrating off legacy technical
stacks. 5. Compute cost optimizations by working on cost reduction
initiatives to reduce grid compute costs by moving to efficient
valuation models and distributing across HPC/AWS clusters. 6. Lead
the migration of stochastic valuation models, moving away from
Black Scholes to better capture volatility risk exposure. 7.
Develop strategic UI interfaces using HTML5/React for trade
booking/risk management platform. 8. Integrate with OpenFin
platform, defining data taxonomies for Macro/Rates business and
seamlessly interact with other applications (RFQ activity, internal
margins, Credit exposures, Axes etc.) in the space. 9. Enhance the
server-side stack, moving to microservices stack using Vert.X,
SpringBoot. service discovery via Zookeeper, asynchronous messaging
on Confluent Kafka and deployments using Kubernetes/Docker
containers. 10. Work with Front Office traders to provide
risk/trade/static/market data via APIs to support their development
on Python Notebooks. 11. May telecommute. This position is eligible

Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software,
utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides
business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers
and colleagues. Accountabilities Development and delivery of
high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned
programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is
scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers,
and other engineers to define software requirements, devise
solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment
with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in
code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge
sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and
innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s
technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence
and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate
vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software
solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to
ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability. Assistant
